About John van Schaijk

I am a seasoned executive in the gaming and compliance sector with more than 35 years of experience. My background is in electronics engineering, and that technical grounding has carried through every role since — from research and development, into product management, and on into certification, regulation and compliance leadership.

I started on the product side. As Manager R&D at Orion Gaming from 2001 to 2008 I oversaw the design, development and deployment of slot machine products worldwide. From 2008 to 2011 I was Director of Product Management at WMS Gaming, responsible for product strategy, development and market positioning across the Orion and WMS ranges.

From 2011 to 2018 I served as Technical Director EMEA at GLI Europe, directing engineering teams across Europe, Italy, Spain and Africa for a laboratory serving more than 475 gaming jurisdictions. Between 2019 and 2022 I was Business Development Manager and Technical Manager at Trisigma, a GLI company, expanding the client base and managing testing and certification for both online and land-based gaming systems.

Today I serve as Compliance Officer at Hommerson.nl, where I oversee regulatory compliance under the Dutch Kansspelautoriteit licensing framework, and as Chief Technology Officer at Bits Malta Ltd., where I lead technology strategy, business control and operational efficiency in the gaming compliance sector.

My work spans regulatory compliance and licensing under KSA, international and GLI standards, business control and budgeting, technical management and R&D leadership, product strategy and lifecycle management, and operations management. As a gaming compliance expert I work across multiple jurisdictions, and serve as Compliance Officer in several of them.
